Bericht Nachwuchs U15 Turnier Bürglen 05.12.21 'Hakuna matata'

“Hakuna matata” - No worries. And just like that with no worries our LKZ lion cubs went to their last tournament for 2021. The tournament was held in a lovely, snowy village called Bürglen, 1 hour away from Zug. No need to say that they had a very early start.

Our cubs had a difficult pool of opponents - Luzern, Sursee, Steinhausen and Knutwil/ St. Erhard. All games were very challenging and the usual 1-2-3 would not always work as it will lead to long fights of who takes the point. Therefore, they had to use the element of surprise with unexpected second balls and bring their best serves. Our LKZ won the first 3 games 2:1 and lost the last game against Sursee 1:2.

They say that their new mascot Nala brought them luck, but we would like to disagree. It was all them - their teamwork, communication and endurance. Everyone in the building could hear our captain - Marija, encouraging the team: “Konzentriere, konzentriere!” (plus some other words that I didn’t quite understand).

And just like that with no worries our lion cubs can go into the new year of 2022, knowing that they certainly secured their place in SVRI 2nd League.
